One Step Closer to Affordable Hydrogen Fuel
The world just got one step closer to affordable, clean hydrogen fuel. Scientists at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio have developed an efficient way to convert ethanol and other biofuels into hydrogen. The new catalyst uses ethanol to make hydrogen, producing a 90% yield. Even better, the process uses inexpensive ingredients and produces hydrogen at a workable temperature.

TTSL Evaluates Option for Providing Power Back-up to Towers
Tata Teleservices (TTSL) has undertaken field trials of a solution provided by US-based fuel cell company Plug Power to provide back-up for its mobile towers in rural areas.
The power company claims this alternative power source is more cost effective than the traditional diesel power generators and is based on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

VIASPACE Signs New Deal to Distribute Fuel Cell Test Stations
VIASPACE Inc., a company that transforms proven space and defense technologies from NASA and the Department of Defense into hardware and software solutions, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with WonATech of Korea for VIASPACE to sell and distribute WonATech’s fuel cell test stations outside Korea.

Platinum Catalyst Efficiency on List of Ford Developments
Ford will work on improving its use of platinum to increase efficiency with development already being seen in the results of the latest tests.
Along with improving the efficiency of the platinum catalysts, Ford has also focussed on increasing fuel cell life, improving reliability and increasing the ability to start under cold conditions.
