Toshiba Makes Progress on Methanol-based Fuel Cell
DMFCs produce electricity from a reaction between methanol, water and air. Toshiba executives wouldn't reveal the capacity of the DMFC installed in the phone, but later said a 50ml cartridge could refill the phone's DMFC reservoir 15 times. That equates to a capacity of 3.33 ml.

Fuel Cells Promise New U.S. Jobs
Up To 675,000 Jobs by 2035, DOE Concludes
WASHINGTON, Oct 01, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Commercializing fuel cells and shifting from gasoline to hydrogen could generate 675,000 new jobs over the next 25 years, concludes a Department of Energy study sent to Congress today. Hydra Fuel Cell Begins Production
Hydra Fuel Cell, the Beaverton-based company developing hydrogen fuel cell technology, on Wednesday said it has received its first patent and has begun production.
The company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Houston-based American Security Resources Corp., filed seven patent applications in the summer of 2006.
